REGIONAL GRADING COMPETITIONSunday
15 May 2011 saw Richard’s Trampoline Club attending the Eastern
regional Grading competition in Brentwood, Essex.
The club was well represented with 10 performers, and yet again
with many new performers to competition. At
Regional D Jo Collins was our only performer.
Jo had suffered some disruption to her training prior to the
competition, so was not able to use the new routine she was hoping for.
However Jo was determined and she completed 3 lovely routines,
showing good improvement since her last competition.
Jo easily secured herself a medal, and finished in 3rd
place overall. At
Regional F Tate Henocq and Mick Manning were competing.
Tate hadn’t competed in a trampolining competition for nearly a
year, due to being an accomplished swimmer.
This was apparent in her performance, as there were a couple of
uncharacteristic, minor errors. Despite
this though Tate was still in a different league to the others in her
group, and she easily secured 1st place whilst also having
the highest difficulty level. Mick
was trying some new routines out, which was good experience for him.
He had a very tough group, and despite some good routines, he
finished just outside the medals in 4th place. At
Regional G we again had lots of new performers, which is really
encouraging to see. Austin
Shaw was competing for the first time, having only recently joined the
club. Despite plenty of nerves before the competition, Austin
showed lots of confidence in his routines and finished in a very well
deserved first place. Tom
Holford was another new performer who worked hard in preparation for the
competition. There was a
small bit of travel at the end of his routine, but he did enough to
secure 3rd place. Matthew
Wilton accidentally touched the framepad during his compulsory routine,
so suffered large deductions from the judges.
He then went on to perform a stunning voluntary routine and
received the second highest marks from the judges within his group,
which put him in 7th place overall.
Faye Harper, Seun Fagbohun and Helen Holford finished in team 5th
and Ella Hemmings finished 13th in a group of nearly 30
performers. |
